Ingredients

Step 1: Classic Oven Roasting
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the shelled pistachios evenly on a baking sheet.
  3. Roast for 10-12 minutes, tossing them halfway through, until they’re golden brown.
  4. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. They will continue to cook slightly from residual heat.
Step 2: Stovetop Pan Roasting
  1. Place a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the shelled pistachios to the dry skillet.
  3. Stir them continuously for 5-7 minutes until they become fragrant and slightly darker.
  4. Remove from heat and cool.
Step 3: Microwave Roasting
  1. Place pistachios on a microwavable plate.
  2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir them halfway.
  3. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals until they are evenly toasted.
  4. Allow to sit for a couple of minutes before serving.
Step 4: Air Fryer Method
  1. Toss your pistachios with a touch of olive oil and seasonings.
  2. Place them in the air fryer basket.
  3. Set the air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
  4. The result is beautifully roasted nuts with less oil!
Step 5: Spiced Sugar Roasting
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix pistachios with 1 tablespoon of sugar, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Spread the coated nuts on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sugar caramelizes.
Step 6: Savory Herbed Roasting
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss shelled pistachios with olive oil and your choice of herbs (like rosemary or thyme).
  3. Roast for 10-12 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  4. Cool before enjoying.
Step 7: Sweet Maple Glazed Roasting
  1. Mix pistachios with 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and a pinch of salt.
  2. Bake in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  3. This method offers a sweet treat perfect for desserts.
